Neurotoxin FAQ
What are Neurotoxin injections?
Neurotoxin, including Botox and Dysport or Xeomin, are FDA approved injections used to make temporary changes to both moderate and severe areas. By using small doses of muscle relaxants such as botulinum toxin type A, we make tiny injections directly into any overactive muscles that cause lines to form. Both solutions can be used as a preventative measure to reduce lines from forming or in a corrective measure to treat mild lines on your forehead, around your eyes and other facial structures.

Which should you choose?
We recommend an in-person consultation to go over different products and arrive to the best treatment option for you.

How long does neurotoxin last?
Although every patient is different, most patients find that their injections last around 3-4 months at minimum and up to 5 month for Dysport. Effects can vary based on the metabolism of your body and how quickly it dissolves the solution. We have seen some clients with amazing results lasting up to 6 months.
How long does it take for the effects to kick in after injection?
You may begin to notice subtle changes within 24/48 hours. However, it takes up to 2 weeks (or 14 days) to see the maximum results of Botox and 1 week for Dysport (typically by day 3-4). It can be a process, but we promise is that the results will keep you wanting more!
What should I expect after injections?
Typically there is NO downtime. After receiving your injections, you may experience minimal swelling, redness and tenderness at the injection sites. However, this tends to go away in a matter or hours. It is recommended that you follow specific post-injection instructions such as: avoiding heavy exercise, salty food, alcohol or smoking after injections. Your doctor will be sure to review any additional instructions before and after injections

What should I expect during my appointment?
For new patients, a complementary consultation is required prior to injecting. After we have reviewed your medical history, signed consents and discussed treatment options with the provider, the injections will take anywhere from 15-30 minutes depending on severity. The provider will apply numbing solution before injections and may use ice to further numb areas as needed. Most clients report feeling a very small pinch at the injection site but you should not feel any severe pain.
